Dr. Kaushal Pokhrel is a hardworking, dedicated and motivated ophthalmologist serving in ASG Eye Care, Kathmandu. He was trained at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, a WHO collaborating center located in Kathmandu under the scholarship of ministry of health and population of Nepal. He then served in a charitable hospital in Dang for 2 years. During the tenure, he did numerous surgical camps in the outskirts of the western hilly region of Nepal.
He has done more than 4000 ocular surgeries including more than 2000 cataract surgeries (MSICS and phacoemulsification), numerous pterygium and emergency repairs. He has been involved in teaching of Nursing and Ophthalmic Nursing students since more than 7 years.
He is a part of an International blindness survey (RAAB 2019) and has been involved in more than 5 national/international journal publications and presentations.
Apart from clinical work, he is serving as the founder president of the Young Ophthalmologist, Nepal and is the joint secretary of Nepal Ophthalmic Society. He is the LCIF coordinator of Lions Club of Dang, Deukhuri.
