About DR. SOHINI MANDAL

Dr Sohini Mandal is a highly experienced ophthalmologist with over 6 years of practical expertise in the field of ophthalmology. She completed her MBBS from Medical College Kolkata and subsequently pursued her M.D. in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. During her tenure, she undertook a senior residency in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at the same institution, further honing her skills for a period of 3 years. In recognition of her exceptional performance, Dr Sohini was awarded the Best Senior Resident award in 2023 at AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr Sohini was trained by Padma Shri awardee Prof. J.S. Titiyal at AIIMS, New Delhi, which played a pivotal role in shaping her expertise in ophthalmology. She also attained the FAICO degree in Refractive Surgery, solidifying her position as a leading specialist in this field.

Dr Sohini specializes in Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery, with a particular focus on phacoemulsification, cornea transplant, and LASIK procedures. Her extensive experience includes examining and treating over 10,000 patients with cornea and cataract conditions. Moreover, she has successfully performed more than 5,000 phacoemulsification surgeries, over 200 corneal transplant surgeries, and more than 100 LASIK and SMILE surgeries.

Dr Sohini has actively participated in various national and international conferences, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the World Ophthalmology Congress (WOC) in 2019, where she presented her research work and thesis. Her contributions to the field are evident through her 25 publications indexed in PubMed and over 15 book chapters authored by her. Additionally, she has taken the initiative to organize educational events, hands-on training wet lab sessions, and exhibits a strong passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring medical professionals.
