Dr. Shobhit Varma is a consultant Ophthalmologist with working experience of 8 years in
the same field. He completed his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore after
which he pursued a Diploma in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology,
RIMS, Ranchi.

Following this, he underwent 2 years of DNB residency training in the prestigious LV Prasad
Eye Institute, Hyderabad where he gained experience in cataract surgery and
comprehensive ophthalmology. He was posted as a junior consultant in secondary centers
of LVPEI during the tenure. He was awarded the 2 nd prize by the all-India ophthalmological
society in the all-India PG thesis competition.

Subsequently following his interest in the field of vitreoretinal diseases; he underwent 2
years of vitreoretinal surgery fellowship training from the renowned institute Sankara
Nethralaya, Chennai. He has gained skills for managing various vitreoretinal surgery
procedures, Retinopathy of prematurity diagnosis and treatment, Uveitic conditions and
other ocular ailments. While obtaining the coveted vitreoretinal surgery fellowship
qualification from the Medical retina foundation, Sankara Nethralaya he has also published
multiple research papers in national and international journals as well as co-authored
multiple chapters in textbooks.
