Program Duration & Structure
The Surgical Registrarship Program in Phacoemulsification is a 1-year structured training program designed to enhance surgical competency and clinical leadership skills.

First 6 Months:
Training under the direct supervision of an assigned mentor, focusing on surgical refinement, case selection, and step-by-step skill development. -
Next 6 Months:
Placement at a high-volume surgical centre to provide independent surgical exposure, decision-making responsibility, and OPD management.
Stipend & Performance-Based Revision

Initial Stipend: ₹1.1 lakh per month

Revision: After completion of six months, the stipend may be revised based on:

Surgical demonstration assessment

Mentor feedback and performance evaluation
The revised stipend can be increased up to ₹2 lakh per month.

The logbook must be updated regularly and will be reviewed monthly for all Surgical Registrars across centres.

Retina Surgical Registrarship (Eligibility-Based)
Candidates with prior Retina fellowship or formal Retina training may be considered for Surgical Registrarship – Retina at centres with an adequate Retina surgical load.
Infrastructure Requirements

Each training centre must have a functioning surgical camera.

All surgeries performed by Surgical Registrars must be recorded for academic review and assessment.
