Can Air Pollution Cause Dry Eyes?

Most of what we note is that the eye’s first defense is a thin tear film which is putty for smoke, dust, traffic emissions, construction debris, and chemical vapours. This is the reason that Air Pollution and Dry Eyes has become an issue for commuters, outdoor workers, contact lens users, and people in metropolitan areas.

The simple answer is yes: Polluted air does bring on or exacerbate dryness. Also it is not the sole cause.
